Psychology at CIHS
A graduate psychology department for clinical practice and frontier research.
The Psychology Department at CIHS brings together three distinct graduate pathways: the M.A. in Psychology, the Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, and the Ph.D. in Integral, Transpersonal, and Positive Psychology.
Together, these programs reflect a shared commitment to understanding human beings in their full depth — psychologically, relationally, somatically, culturally, spiritually, and scientifically. Students enter a department shaped by whole-person clinical training, research-oriented transpersonal psychology, positive psychology, consciousness studies, and a serious commitment to the future of the field.
Department at a Glance
Three graduate pathways. One integrative vision of psychology.
The Psychology Department holds clinical, research, and human potential pathways side by side, without reducing them to the same thing. Students can pursue clinical formation, research-oriented doctoral study, or a broad graduate foundation in psychology and human development.
Whole-Person Clinical Training
The Clinical Psychology pathway is designed for students called toward ethical, reflective, whole-person clinical formation, with preparation for professional clinical practice.
Research That Builds the Field
The ITPP Ph.D. is designed for students drawn to research, scholarship, consciousness, human flourishing, and the scientific study of transformation — not only learning the literature, but helping build it.
Cost-Conscious Clinical Pathway
The M.A. Pre-Clinical to Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology pathway is structured to reduce redundancy, support academic progression, and provide a financially responsible route to professional clinical practice.
Mind, Body, Spirit Approaches
Across its programs, Psychology at CIHS approaches human experience through clinical practice, mind-body integration, contemplative inquiry, depth-oriented perspectives, positive psychology, spirituality, and transpersonal psychology.
Faculty Mentorship
Students study with faculty who bring together scholarship, clinical experience, research, and integrative practice. The department supports students as emerging clinicians, researchers, scholars, and practitioners.
Flexible Online Format
Psychology programs at CIHS are designed for distance students and working adults, with opportunities for meaningful faculty engagement, community connection, and ongoing academic support.
