Chief Financial Officer
Forrest Temple holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Finance and has 45 plus years of financial management experience primarily in the non-profit sector. He brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of financial stewardship and strategic leadership to his role as CFO at CIHS.
For 29 years, Forrest dedicated his career to Yale University, where he made significant contributions in finance and administration. He served on several university-wide project committees, including those focused on restructuring management compensation and implementing a new ERP financial management system. For the last nine years of his tenure at Yale, Forrest held the position of Lead Administrator for Finance and Administration, In this role, he had overall fiduciary responsibility for a Yale division which included 125 employees and a $53 million operating budget.
Prior to his time at Yale, Forrest worked for nine years at CBS Inc. in New York City, where he specialized in accounting and financial analysis.
More recently, Forrest has continued to apply his expertise in not-for-profit financial management as part time Controller for the non-profit New Haven Symphony Orchestra and as the CFO of The Graduate Institute, positions he held for about seven years. In these roles, Forrest’s responsibilities included financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, budget management, grant management, internal controls, stakeholder communication and regulatory compliance. During this time Forrest also provided financial consulting services to a number of New Haven, CT nonprofit organizations.
